£10,000 WILBUR SMITH ADVENTURE WRITING PRIZE SHORTLIST

MY NAME IS YIP by Paddy Crewe (Doubleday, Penguin Random House)

GOING ZERO by Anthony McCarten (Pan Macmillan, Macmillan)

BLACK BUTTERFLIES by Priscilla Morris (Duckworth)

THE HALF LIFE OF VALERY K by Natasha Pulley (Raven Books, Bloomsbury Publishing)

FOUR TREASURES OF THE SKY by Jenny Tinghui Zhang (Penguin Michael Joseph)

The winner will be announced on October 18, 2023 at an Awards Ceremony hosted by London’s Royal Geographical Society.

There are now three awards that honor thrillers: The Thriller Awards sponsored by the International Thriller Writers, the Barry Thriller Awards sponsored by Deadly Pleasures Mystery Magazine and the Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize.

I am unfamiliar with all of these titles except GOING ZERO by Anthony McCarten, which is a thriller that I have been recommending to readers since I read it earlier this year.
