The Specsavers Awards are the award given out at the annual CrimeFest in Bristol, England. Here are the shortlists in the adult crime fiction categories. It’s curious that there is no Best Crime Novel category. Four crime novels from my Best of 2023 list made these short lists: DESERT STAR by Michael Connelly, THE BOTANIST by M.W. Craven, THE MAID by Nita Prose and BAD ACTORS by Mick Herron. Congratulations to all, especially Deadly Pleasures contributor Mike Ripley.
