Rachael is a fan of psychological suspense/domestic suspense and even though she has divided her list into four categories, I don’t see any titles that I wouldn’t consider psychological/domestic suspense novels, with the possible exceptions of the Karin Slaughter and Lisa Gardner titles. Of her 19 titles, 18 were written by women (one being a wife-husband writing team — Ellery Floyd) , so that also indicates her preference for female writers. (I might add, that my “best” list is male-centric, so I’m not criticizing.). I’m a big fan of Jane Harper, but THE SURVIVORS left me disappointed (compared to her other stunning works).

By sheer coincidence, Rachael attended the same university that I did (BYU) and lives about 25 minutes from where I live in the same town that one of my sons lives in. I’m sure that we will meet in person someday.
