During the 1990s Berkley Prime Crime Mystery released a series of seven paperback originals in the Freddie O’Neal series by Catherine Dain. Freddie is a female private eye who works out of Reno, Nevada. Two of the novels were nominated for Shamus Awards.
But this post isn’t about the words inside the covers of each book, but about the cover art which is so colorfully vivid and striking. Consider this a class in mystery cover art appreciation 101. I hope you enjoy it. Sorry, no course credits given.
