My Favorite Cover
This highly entertaining story about an idiosyncratic hit man who travels to hits on his bike is ably described by this wacky cover illustration. I also liked the use of yellow and green.
What’s not to like in the cornucopia of color. The eye focuses on a wonderfully decorated pocket watch. Just gorgeous!
This is a wonderfully evocative cover which depicts the final resting place for a murdered family. Harry Bosch is obsessed with finding the killer to get justice for the innocent victims. Again, wonderful use of colors.
Who among us hasn’t spent hours in the stacks of libraries? A beautiful rendition of a place in which we all feel at home.
Vividly striking use of color introduces us to one of the best debuts of 2022.
Reds, grays, blacks and blues combine for this striking British cover. A lovely pattern design tops off a great look.
A surreal and jumbled map of London with a running woman at its center is a good introduction to the story the novel contains. Notice the surveillance cameras — I count at least seven.
The magic stick goes well with the word “Conjuror” in the title. Beautiful design and beautiful colors.
I’ve liked the cover art for the last two of Robert Galbraith’s Cormoran Strike novels. The two main characters are nicely framed by the foliage as they visit a graveyard, the scene of the crime.
Shades of Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window! So much detail — it must have taken the cover artist hours and hours to make this illustration.
Another example of Australian bush noir wonderfully illustrated. Once again, I am attracted to the wonderful use of color. Excellent debut novel, by the way.
