Being a British site, the emphasis is on British writers, but they do include some Americans such as Michael Connelly, Don Winslow and Eli Cranor. I don’t know how THE SHADOWS OF MEN, by Abir Mukherjee snuck in there because it came out both in the U.K and in the States in 2021. Fine book, but it doesn’t belong on a 2022 list. I’m reading the Horowitz and and Cavanagh right now and they may appear on my best of the year list. The Winslow, Cercas and the Meyer are already on my best of 2022 list.
Overall, a fine list of nominees. The site and its viewers are to be congratulated for coming up with these short-listed titles.
