I’m very sad to report the death of mystery writer Susie Steiner at the age of 51. She suffered from a brain tumor for the last few years and finally succumbed to it on July 2, 2022. We featured her on the cover of Issue #84 (Fall, 2018) as “a New Star.”
And her first book, the highly entertaining MISSING, PRESUMED, was nominated for a Barry Award. Her series featuring DS Manon Bradshaw now will number only three (MISSING PRESUMED, PERSONS UNKNOWN, REMAIN SILENT).
Several years ago I attended ThrillerFest to help Mystery Mike sell books. I met Susie there and had a memorable conversation with her and Val McDermid.
This a sad loss on a number of levels. Susie left a husband and children still at home. We will miss her charming personality and wonderful writing.
