James W. Ziskin Takes New Direction in 2022

James W. Ziskin

James W. Ziskin is one of my favorite authors and the recent Barry Award winner for TURN TO STONE, the seventh in the Ellie Stone series published by Seventh Street Books.
In 2022, James is taking a turn in his writing and starting what looks to be a new series — this time in hardcover from Oceanview (which publishes two of my favorite series by Matt Coyle and Max Tomlinson).

Coming in December will be BOMBAY MONSOON. Here is the plot:

It’s 1975 and Danny Jacobs, an ambitious American journalist, has arrived in Bombay on a new assignment. Timing couldn’t be worse—or for a journalist—better. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, fearing a coup, has declared a state of emergency. Throw in an assassination of a police officer by a Marxist extremist, then complicate everything with a hot, unexpected romance—for a reporter’s dream come true—or his worst nightmare.

This novel fits right in with a lot of mysteries that I been reading lately: either written by authors of Indian heritage or set in India. I sense a cover article for Deadly Pleasures taking shape. I look forward to reading this — but I hope that James doesn’t abandon Ellie Stone entirely.
