My favorite cover
There is a lot to like in this mood-setting cover — the colors, a beautiful woman’s face, with color-matching sunglasses. Can’t say I care for a woman smoking, but I loved how the cigarette pokes through the loop of the cursive “h” and how her elegant finger overlaps the “N” of the title. The cover artist is to be congratulated for stunning work.

I love the use of the blue and red colors in both the ocean and sky of this gorgeous cover of STEEL FEAR. It’s a proper introduction to the turmoil that the reader encounters on a huge aircraft carrier. Art Direction: Carlos Beltran Jacket Design: Faceout Studio/Tim Green
The cover of NORTHERN HEIST shows the outside of a substantial safe or vault — not easy to get into. This story of a major bank heist is introduced in grand style by its cover.
Another cover with a beautiful face — this time peering out from behind a tropical plant. Great use of color and focus. One is drawn to the woman’s eyes that are directly staring at — you!
I love a cover that tells a story and this one, with an airplane in a free-fall dive, does exactly that. The cover artist gives us the illusion that the word “Falling” is in fact … falling. The vivid colors in contrast with a black background are also very eye-catching.
This Australian novel sits squarely in the new subgenre of “bush noir,” as evidenced by the decrepit house, beat-up pickup and orange soil. Once again, I was attracted to the vivid colors used by the cover designer. Nothing sets a scene like an old pickup.
An historical novel with a beautiful woman in a historically accurate dress and hairstyle. A striking vision.
The striking juxtaposition of a woman’s delicate hands and cuffs make for a beautiful cover.
This clever design is made up of medicinal pills. I was attracted to the design and use of color.
Beautiful use of the color blue along with a little white and gold makes this cover a winner. In just a few figures one can surmise the story is about Sherlock Holmes and is set in Egypt.
