It seems like Hillary Clinton doesn’t like to be outdone by her husband Bill. Both are known as long-time fans of mystery fiction. Bill has had recent success with his two novels co-authored with James Patterson. Next month it is Hillary’s turn, as STATE OF TERROR, co-authored with Louise Penny, comes out in print. But that’s not all.

It has just been announced that Hillary and her daughter Chelsea’s production company, Global Light Productions, has just optioned film and TV rights to Jacqueline Winspear’s Maisy Dobbs series. Hillary comments “We’re also doing scripted projects so, for example, one of our favorite books that Chelsea and I have shared over the years is a book about a character called MAISIE DOBBS, which is [the first in] a series about a World War I field nurse who turns into a detective and we’ve just optioned it.”

I certainly cannot fault Hillary and Chelsea’s taste by teaming up with two of today’s best crime fiction writers. I look forward to seeing the results.
