If you are coming up with a short list of crime fiction experts in the U.K., Barry Forshaw would likely be at the top of the list. He has written a number of books on the subject and has been a reviewer of crime fiction for several decades.
Just this week Barry was invited by a virtual Turkish crime fiction convention to give a 1-hour overview of the history of crime fiction and some of its greats. Of course that is a near impossible task for anyone to do in one single hour, but he manages to do quite a good job of it.
His discussion is based on his recent book, CRIME FICTION: A Reader’s Guide.
It is well worth your time to devote an hour to watching this on YouTube. Thanks to Prince Ali Karim for referring this to us.
